The Wedding Day

Borgo Petrognano sits in a Tuscan landscape that makes you slow down the moment you arrive. Silvery olive groves, patchwork vineyards, a stillness that feels deliberate. It was the perfect setting for Aine and Andrew, who dreamed of a wedding that reflected their own spirit — unhurried, genuine, and full of real moments.

What struck me most about the day was how at ease everyone was. The morning light slowly filtered into the estate, and the preparations unfolded with the same quiet rhythm. Aine was relaxed, and the room filled with her serene joy.

The ceremony took place in that same gentle intimacy. The words clearly meant something to the people saying them. Guests leaned forward. A few people laughed, a few cried — often the same people, moments apart.

Afterwards, we walked the estate together to catch memories of the couple in that beautiful landscape — they still felt like they lived there. Aine later told me that one of her favourite things about the day was not noticing I was there. That is, I think, the best expression of my job.
